Interview with Trevor.
Recently I had the opportunity to chat with Trevor Dunn, bass player for the newest incarnation of The Melvins known as The Melvins Lite. They are currently on the road trying to break a world record by playing 51 shows in 51 days. Here is a bit of our conversation, complete with sarcastic witticisms. Enjoy!
MMS: How did The Melvins Lite come about?
TD: God came to me in a dream and told me to go to the aid of The Melvins with my upright bass. He told me if I didn’t do it he would burn me slowly. The idea wasn’t well received at first, but I coaxed them into it.
MMS: Who’s idea was 51 in 51? How did the idea come about? What are the logistical challenges that come along with such an immense undertaking?
